The handmade Akra Spinner Ring is inspired by Akrafokonmu, elaborate gold discs worn as protective emblems by high-ranking members within households in west Africa. Known as ‘soul washer’s discs,’ Akrafokonmu often feature a circular centre surrounded by parallel lines—this is my own take on it.
From my new collection, this special ring has been designed with a spinning feature, and if required, I can add an engraving to the plain side. The ring can be worn either way—I like to call this ‘fidgety jewellery’, ideal for those who like tactile pieces that can be fiddled with! The ring is made with sterling silver and 9ct yellow gold.
Please email me if you’d like me to add a personal engraving to your ring.
An Akra Necklace is also available.
Please allow up to 3 weeks for this ring to be made and sent. If needed for a certain date, please email me before you buy and I will do my best to accommodate.
