Mikanda Necklace

The Mikanda necklace is made with beautiful tourmaline beads picked for their muted ‘watermelon’ colour palette.  Inspired by classic beaded tribal jewellery, the statement piece features a golden hand (Isandla) with a green tourmaline which symbolises protection or a golden serpent (Inzoka), which symbolises rebirth and transformation. Each bead is threaded by hand onto a solid gold square serpent chain for extra sturdiness and beauty. Mikanda means ‘bead’ in  Xhosa and Chichewa, which gives the piece its name. 

The Mikanda necklace is available as the Inzoka version or Islanda version. This necklace sits at around 15" in length.
